1. Who these terms are between
These terms (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you (“you”) and Diplomare (“we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
2. What Diplomare is
Diplomare is a web application that helps families organize the college application process — college lists, deadlines, essays, test scores, scholarships, and financial aid. It is not a replacement for a licensed college counselor, financial advisor, or legal professional, and it does not guarantee admission, financial aid, or any specific outcome.
3. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to create a parent account. Students under 18 may use the service under the supervision and consent of a parent or legal guardian.
- You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
- Accurate information helps the product work — please keep your email and student profiles up to date.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and auto-renewal
Diplomare offers a Free tier and a Premium subscription (billed monthly at $19 or annually at $149). Premium subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
You can cancel at any time from the Billing page inside the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep Premium access until that date.
California residents: you may also cancel by emailing hello@daddiorobotics.net with the subject “Cancel subscription.”
5. Refunds
Our refund policy is described on a dedicated page — see Refund Policy. In short: annual plans are refundable within seven days; monthly plans aren't refundable but you can cancel future charges any time.
6. Your data
You own the content you put into Diplomare — essays, profile data, uploaded documents. We don't claim any ownership over it. You grant us a limited license to store, process, display, and back it up so the service can work. We don't use your content to train AI models, sell it, or share it with colleges or advertisers.
7. Acceptable use
Please don't use Diplomare to:
- Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your identity or relationship to a student.
- Upload content you don't have the right to share, or malicious files.
- Attempt to break, reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the service or other users.
- Use the service to harass, discriminate against, or deceive anyone.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. We will try to warn you first when we can.
8. AI features
AI features (college matching, essay feedback, scholarship research) are informational and advisory. They are not a substitute for professional counsel. We try hard to make them useful, but large language models can be wrong, and you should always review AI output before relying on it — especially for essays, financial decisions, and deadlines.
9. Third-party services
The service uses third-party processors (Stripe, Anthropic, Resend, Hostinger). Their terms and policies apply to the parts of the service they power. A full list lives in the Privacy Policy.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Diplomare running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, or remove features over time. Material changes that affect your paid subscription will be communicated by email before they take effect.
11. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Diplomare and its team won't be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold Diplomare harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of someone else's rights.
14. Termination
You can stop using Diplomare and delete your account at any time. We can suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or create risk or legal exposure for us or other users.
15. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a lawsuit, please try to resolve the dispute with us informally by emailing hello@daddiorobotics.net. Small-claims court is always available to either party.
16. Changes to these Terms
If we make a material change, we'll email account holders and update the date at the top. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.
